Nicholas A. Robins

Nicholas A. Robins has a PhD. in Latin American studies from the University of Tulane (Louisiana, USA) and is a professor in the Department of History at the State University of North Carolina. Author or editor of fourteen books and numerous articles, his research refers to social and environmental aspects of the Andean countries, inherited pollution and indigenous rebellions. He received three Fulbright awards; He was an ORISE Fellow by the US Environmental Protection Agency and founding president of the Bolivian Studies Association. He is president of the Environmental Health Council (www.ehcouncil.org), a nonprofit organization focused on heavy metal pollution issues in the Andean region. In this regard, in recognition of his work in Huancavelica, in 2016 he received the title of Doctor Honoris Causa from the National University of Huancavelica.
